On Saturday, May 4, the 5th Latin Sailing Course ended at the Port of Catarroja.

A special party was organized to dismiss the new sailboats. Instead of the boats we use for the practices, this time the older boats were mated. The fishermen of the Community of Catarroja teamed up with the school’s monitors to distribute the students in their boats and offer them an exhibition in which they participated as a master class for veterans.

Some crossed the Albufera for the first time from Punta de Llebeig to La Mata de Sant Roc, and to the banks of the Sollana.

The gentle wind made navigation very easy, and the crossing became a festive walk in which everyone had their chance to try themselves at the helm or the rudder.

After the farewell lunch, in which we were accompanied by the Mayor Jesús Monzó and the Deputy Mayor Lorena Silvent, as well as representatives of the Valencian Cultural Federation of Latin Sailing, the diplomas were handed out.

And we are many more. From now on, new sailboats will reinforce the crews of Catarroja, and maybe someone will look for their own boat, to save some from oblivion.
